Tadamon! Montréal invites you to a solidarity evening to celebrate our past year building ongoing campaigns for social justice in the Middle East.
Madinat Montréal will be an evening capturing an Arab-Middle Eastern ambiance, with delicious food from the Kaza Maza menu as well as revolutionary music from the Middle East.
Featuring Hassan Abdel Hay and Issam Hadad on oud, playing an inspirational homage to renowned Egyptian dissident singer Sheikh Imam and other classic oud players like Marcel Khalifé from Lebanon.
Also featuring “Roads through Palestine”, a short film by Brett Story and Stefan Christoff, Quebec/Canada, 17 minutes to be projected at Kaza Maza.
“Roads Through Palestine” an audio-visual journey through the roads of occupation and resistance in the West Bank, and a poetic and cinematic reflection on the geography of war.
Madinat Montréal will finish late into the night with DJ Rami and DJ Fadi spinning Middle Eastern tunes both contemporary and classic.
Please spread the word and invite your friends to attend our year-end gathering while looking forward and gathering funds for our many upcoming activities and ongoing campaigns in 2010.
