In commemoration of the 62nd anniversary of the Nakba (Arabic for “The Catastrophe”), Tadamon! invites you to an afternoon gathering to learn about the Palestinian Nakba of 1948 and its continuing impact on the Palestinian people.
Join us in our simulated refugee tent in Parc Lafontaine for a cup of tea or coffee and listen to the stories of Palestinians who lived through the Catastrophe of 1948 and are still affected by Israel’s ongoing policies of illegal land expropriation, colonization, occupation and apartheid. Learn about the international movement for Boycott Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Israeli apartheid that aims to end the ongoing Nakba.
In the simulated refugee tent, we will also host an exhibition of photos and artwork depicting the Nakba, and feature the traditional music of the oud.
