The Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) issued a report revealing that 32 Palestinian detainees imprisoned in Al Ramla Israeli prison are hospitalized in the prison hospital which lacks the fundamental resources and tools.

Detainee Isam Abu Jandal, imprisoned since 1986,and hospitalized in the prison hospital, stated that tension is a continuous event as the detainees demand the improvement health services.

He added that several inured detainees arrived to the prison hospital, adding that they cannot move and need people to help them while the prison administration is neglecting their rights.

Meanwhile, detainee Mohammad Tamimi, stated that the prison administration rejected to allow him to undergo a kidney transplant though one of his relatives, also imprisoned in the same detention facility, said that he will donate his kidney for him.

The administration refused to allow the surgery and stated that the procedure is very expensive.

Tamimi voiced an appeal to Physicians for Human Rights and several other human right groups to intervene.

Also, detainee Jom’a Adam, imprisoned since 19 years and sentenced to one life-term, said that he suffers from Anemia and is not receiving the needed medical treatment.

The PPS voiced an appeal to Physicians for Human Rights, the Red Cross and several Human Rights groups to intervene and practice pressure on Israel to release all of the sick detainees in order to allow them receive the adequate and needed medical treatment.

The PPS stated that Palestinians teams, in charge of talks with the Israeli side, should place the issue of the detainees as a top priority in any meeting especially since there are nearly 11000 detainees imprisoned by Israel, including children and dozens of detainees who need immediate medical attention.

Several detainees are suffering from heart issues, cancer, blood pressure, kidney issues, paralysis, amputations, infections, brain diseases and physiological issues.

Many other detainees were shot and injured before they were arrested and never received the adequate medical treatment.
