The following open letter to Recep Tayyip Erdogan, prime minister of Turkey, was issued by various Palestinian organizations on 17 August 2010:
Dear Mr. Prime Minister We are writing to you from under a brutal, hermetic siege now entering its fourth year to express our outrage against the nomination of the notorious former president of Colombia, Alvaro Uribe Velez to the Panel of Inquiry into the 31 May 2010 Israeli brutal attack on the humanitarian flotilla to Gaza.
Reporting from Gaza City — Don’t ask Hatem Hajaj whether there’s a humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
Four months ago, the unemployed salesclerk’s son was born with a heart blockage. Doctors told Hajaj that the baby’s only hope was transfer to a Jerusalem hospital because Gaza lacked a pediatric surgery unit.
All those interested in getting involved in the movement for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) against Israeli apartheid and for Palestinian human rights are welcome to attend an open meeting of Tadamon!

Two Israeli soldiers were charged in a military court yesterday with forcing a 10-year-old Palestinian boy in the Gaza Strip to handle objects they suspected of being rigged to explode.
The soldiers were indicted for “ordering the boy to open cases that they thought were explosives”, Major Dorit Toval, the prosecutor, said. The alleged crime took place during Operation Cast Lead, the Israeli military onslaught waged more than a year ago with the aim of halting Hamas rocket fire at southern Israel. A gag order was placed barring publication of the names of the soldiers.

MONTREAL, March 30 – As the world watches Israel ramp up its construction of illegal Jewish-only settlements in East Jerusalem and the West Bank with apparent impunity, Montrealers are taking to the streets as part of the Global BDS Day of Action against Israeli apartheid. The protest in Montreal takes place alongside similar actions in Egypt, England, France, Ireland, Japan, Scotland, the US and many other countries and is part of the growing international campaign for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions, or BDS, against Israeli apartheid.
